Cure Pancreatic Cancer
For many, the diagnosis of a fatal cancer is the worst of all possible worlds. This summer, for my family, that was only partially true. Pancreatic cancer is a horrible thing, and I hate it. I can't tell you how much I hate it, but in some ways, it was a gift. It gave me three months to say good-bye to my Dad, a man that I loved so very much. Three months to soak up every word he spoke to me, every hug, every laugh, every cry, every song he sung to me and on days when his loss hits me particularly hard, I re-play them in my mind over and over.
Pancreatic cancer took my Dad long before we were ready to say good-bye. It's my hope, it's my prayer that we will one day soon find a cure so that others won't have to travel the same heartbreaking road. I am fully committed to doing whatever I possibly can, in some small way, to help make that a reality.
